We spent our morning being educated on diseases and immunizations by the lovely Ruby, who was very knowledgeable and kind (as well as skilled with the needle)! We're nursing sore arms, but otherwise feel fine as we envision the antibody war that's being waged within us.
I couldn't help but marvel at the ability to chose which diseases I wanted to be immune to. As long as you can pay for it, you can buy your immunity (to a certain degree). It was a poignant occasion, knowing that there are millions of people who are affected by these diseases and don't have access to medication.
