It's with great excitement that I head into December. The solstice is upon us, and soon the days will lengthen again. These dark days lend themselves to connection through gatherings that share music, food, warmth and light - a special time.
And there's lots more to be excited about...
I'm thrilled to be supporting the Telling Room, one of my favorite non-profits this month. Why do I love them so? Their creative ability to work cross-culturally with area youth is outstanding. They make writing FUN, and provide a venue for the voices and stories in every single youth they work with. You'll be able to hear some of those voices that night. Please come to the Yarmouth High School Performing Arts Center December 15th - 7:30pm, all ages. Be sure to get your tickets in advance - save yourself $2 each, and ensure you get a seat ($10 advance/$12 door). Check the YHS site next week for a video promo shot at the Telling Room.
Yes, it's almost time for the debut of my first music video "Sweet Annie". Shot by No Umbrella Media. These guys are doing an amazing job. Stay tuned for release info later this month...
True, it's a mad world, and artist- eco-conscious-fashionista, Meredith Alex is embracing that. This month I'll be the artist of the month at The Madhouse in Portland, Meredith's storefront and upcycle wonderland. Buy a copy of Rattle Them Bones or God Machine here and receive 15% off the rest of your purchase in the store! Sweet deal.
*If you're shopping for the holidays - please consider spending with local musicians, artists, and food purveyors - it's a gift to everyone when we keep our money in our community. (Copies of Rattle Them Bones can be found at Bull Moose stores as well as online)
Have a wonderful weekend...
With Love,
Emilia
