Happy New Year to all! May it be peaceful, abundant, and blessed with good health, meaningful work, and inspiring play.
New Year...New Recording!!!! It's with a ridiculous amount of excitement that I announce another foray into the world of recording for the first time since 2009 (yes, far too long). This Friday we'll be going into Tidal Sound Studios, the new endeavor of drummer, Seth Kearns, with Adam Frederick and Max Cantlin (upright bass and guitar respectively). This will be a digital single, so it won't be too long before it's released into your digital "hands". Details TBA
This Saturday (1.5.12) I'll be offering my voice in song with those of our mid-coast Maine neighbors at Mosman Park in Searsport at 1:00 pm. This action will form a 202-ft diameter “human chain” circle to represent the actual size footprint of DCP’s proposed 23 million gallon LPG tank, which poses potential health and safety risks to the area. Everyone is invited to attend this dramatic, one-hour event action. Music and poetry will be shared. In case of inclement weather, the Circle will be held at 1:00p.m. on Saturday, January 12, 2013! Pinecrest Inn 1.26 - This place is an absolute gem. We'll be returning for a house concert with the trio and I had to pass on the recent, glowing dining review they got in the Portland Press Herald. There is very limited seating in this intimate room, so be sure to make a reservation ASAP if you plan on attending.

This month I look forward to teaching songwriting for my second week at Ocean Ave Elementary School in Portland. This is part of a grant-funded arts program written by the PTO, organized by Jeff Shaw at Maine Academy of Modern Music, and funded by the Maine Arts Commission. The program is bringing local dancers, musicians, writers, and actors into the public school to work and create with all 450, K-5 students for the entirety of the school year.

Video of my performance at this year's Connecting For Change, Bioneers By The Bay conference is now up. Featuring new songs! Visit the Marion Institute for more info about this inspiring event.

In November, I had the honor of participating in Maine's first TEDx Youth at Cape Elizabeth High School, where I spoke about the power music and art have to shape communities. Talks will be posted to the TEDx Dirigo site.

The Transcendence Project is still alive and well, just in a state of dreaming and planning. We've got some new projects in the works, so stay tuned for more!
With gratitute,
