Exciting News! Fall Shows for All!

Emilia Dahlin Greetings Friends,   There's some movement here, and happy news!  I'm most excited to share the project below with you. The Road is Made by Walking has been a long time coming; two years, in fact.  Thank you for listening and supporting this kind of work in the world.  We certainly need every opportunity we can muster to create peace on this planet.   Wishing you a wonderful and warm fall. -Emilia     The Road Is Made By Walking is the followup project to the collaboration that happened in 2013, when The Transcendence Project and Seeds of Peace brought 35 artists from 9 countries in conflict together to explore the role of the arts in peacework.  After many border crossings, recordings, drafts and edits we've compiled the pieces from that night and linked this experience to a resource for peaceworkers through Seeds of Peace.   A special thank you to Shoshana Gottesman and Ami Yares of Heartbeat Jerusalem for carrying this vision forward and to Deb Bicknell for sharing the initial dream. We can see the world through travel, but we can also journey without leaving our physical space. Today we speak with international bestselling author, Tess Gerritsen, and musician Emilia Dahlin, about the journeys they each have taken while practicing their craft, and how the melodies of life have influenced their experience." October 10th - Swien & Stein     Performing with bassist, Colin Winsor at downtown Gardiner's Oktoberfest! Oct. 17th - 12pm   MAMM is excited to announce that it is relaunching The Kids Are Alright concert series! The Kids Are Alright is a family friendly music series presented in a family friendly environment that allows local moms and dads to bring their local kids to see real live local music. Above all else The Kids Are Alright concert series aims to promote children’s involvement in arts and music. The series will kick off at noon on Saturday, October 17th at MAMM's brand new facility located at 125 Presumpscot St in Portland. This month's featured performer is Emilia Dahlin.  She'll be hosting every month following. Following the performance MAMM will host an "instrument petting zoo" where youngsters will have a chance to do some exploring and music making of their own. Admission is $5 for Individual, $8 for Parent/Child, and $10 for Families Learn more about MAMM at www.maineacademyofmodernmusic.org.   On August 22nd, the quartet recorded (in video and sound) a live show at the fabulous Deertrees Theatre.  We are in the process of editing.  Stay tuned for more!
