The mean monster that LA appears to be from the air changes when you meet great people who have found good lives here. Met Mai and Dave for a Mexican lunch and went for a sail out toward the Venice pier in Mai's dads's 30' Catalina sloop. Mao is the cellist for a great band touring 8 months a year all over the country called Raining Jane. Dave is a painter and sculptor playing with beautiful expressions of his love for wood, Mai, and music, and squeezes his artmaking in between surf sessions. They have a beautiful life here. Doug and Jamie, old friend a from Portland , took us in last night. We stayed in their new apartment, a converted yoga studio, conversing about "greenhouses for peaceful, sustainable, regenerative culture" and how YogaWorks, Jamie's employer, may be a new hybrid of Integration for capitalism and raising human health and consciousness. We were all surprised to find we could blend these ideas wihout dissonance. On another note, it appears we may have sold our sailboat, she will go to a fellow Fibonacci-phile, who has promised to take good care and have a ball on her this summer. Today we drive to Three Creeks, our home for the next 6 weeks at the base of the Sierra Nevada
mountains. Tomorrow we head out for a 4 day 4 night fast and will be out of email contact. Love to all, we are basking in all of your support and well wishes of the last few weeks, A&E
